Learn more about template owners, and how to transfer ownership to another user in your organization
Each template has a template owner. By default, the owner is the user that created the template. The owner is responsible for managing the template and has default access to it.
Note: Users who do not own a template may still able to access it and make changes depending on the template's access policy. Learn more about setting access policies here.
How to Transfer Template Ownership:
- Go to the Templates page and find the template you want to transfer ownership of.
- Click the options button (the three dots) to the right of the template.
- Select "Transfer ownership" from the menu.
- Choose the new owner from the list of users in your organization. Note: You can only transfer ownership to Admin and Manager users.
- Click the blue "Transfer ownership" button to complete the transfer.
Once the transfer is complete, the new owner will receive an email notification informing them that they have been assigned ownership of the template. The new owner can navigate directly to the template by clicking the green "Go to template" button in the email:
Note: The previous owner may lose access to the template, depending on their user role and the template’s access policy.
