By default, the owner is theuser that created the template. The owner is responsible for managing the template and has default access to it.  ![Screenshot 2025-01-21 at 16.47.44](https://help.precisely.se/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202025-01-21%20at%2016.47.44.png?width=688&height=105&name=Screenshot%202025-01-21%20at%2016.47.44.png) **Note: **Users who do not own a template may still able to access it and make changes depending on the template's access policy.[ Learn more about setting access policies here](https://help.precisely.se/en/articles/1982368-how-do-i-share-or-restrict-access-to-a-document-folder-or-template?hsLang=en). ### How to Transfer Template Ownership: 1. **Go to the Templates page and find the template** you want to transfer ownership of. 2. **Click the options button** (the three dots) to the right of the template. 3. Select **"Transfer ownership"** from the menu. 4. Choose the new owner from the list of users in your organization. Note: You can only transfer ownership to **Admin **and **Manager** users. 5.
