Precisely's API reference feature allows you to send Precisely a structured dataset (like a .CSV file) which we map to your template references. This makes drafting contracts faster as you can reuse key information across contracts without needing to type it out each time. API references help you scale contract creation with accuracy and efficiency. 

What Can API References Be Used For?

API references can be used for completing questionnaires based on any structured dataset, including but not limited to:

  • Employee directories

  • Client or vendor lists

  • Product catalogs

  • Pre-approved content or terms

How Can Our Organization Use API References in Precisely?

Here are the steps to use Precisely's API references:

  • You send us your data
    Provide a structured dataset in .CSV format containing the information you want to use such as contact lists, products, venues, or policies.

  • We connect it to your selected templates
    Our team maps your data to specific references in your Precisely templates, so your data can be used to automatically fill-in the questionnaire when drafting.

  • You select the data from a dropdown menu when drafting
    When drafting a document, simply choose an input (e.g., a customer name or product type) from a dropdown menu.

  • Precisely fills in the rest
    All related fields are automatically populated, saving time and reducing the risk of errors.

This ensures:

💡 Example #1: Auto-fill contracts with contact list data

If you are maintaining an address book of vendors or clients, you can use our API reference tool to send the data to our system. Simply select a contact name from the dropdown when creating a contract, and have the rest of the person's details automatically populate the questionnaire.
