# How do I search for documents, appendices, and supporting files within a project?

## Learn how to use the in-project search bar to find documents, appendices, and supporting files

Do your projects contain many items, such as documents, appendices, and supporting files? Use the in-project search bar to quickly locate and navigate to these items.

**![Screenshot 2024-12-17 at 10.14.38](https://help.precisely.se/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202024-12-17%20at%2010.14.38.png?width=688&height=157&name=Screenshot%202024-12-17%20at%2010.14.38.png)**

**How do I use the in-project search bar?**

1. Start typing a document title or keyword into the search bar to filter results.  Matching items within the project will appear in the list.
2. Click 'Find in project' next to an item to open the project overview in a new tab. The document, appendix, or supporting file will be displayed and highlighted in blue.
3. You can also open documents and supporting files directly from the search results list by clicking on their title.
