Learn more about placing signature information in your template with Precisely's integration with DocuSign
Integrating Precisely + DocuSign allows you to work with customized signing information.
In this article, you'll learn in which ways you can automate your templates to have signing fileds in the placement of your choice.
P.S: If you want to learn more about this integration in general, read this article instead.
To set up signing fields, you can do so by using anchors in your template document. By setting this up, you can choose the following:
1. Choose the location of the main signing information- A) Default signing table + default location
- B) Default signing table + customized location
- C) Customized signing table + customized location
2. Sign document on every page
1. Choose the location of the main signing information
A) Default signing table + default location
Documents generated from Precisely templates will automatically get all the signing information (signing table), one row per signee, at the end of the document once signing takes place, unless specified otherwise (see 1.B and 1.C below).
That means that if you want to choose this option, no additional preparation in the template document is needed.
B) Default signing table + customized location
If you want to keep the default signing table with the default information, but choose where in the document it is going to be located, you can achieve this by inserting the anchor [DOCUSIGN_TABLE] in your template. Make sure nothing else is added (for example, no spaces or other characters in the same row). The paragraph can not be inside a list, table, conditional block, etc.
C) Customized signing table + customized location
To allow even further customization, you can set up each signing field in a location of your choice. To do this, you are able to select from the list of the following anchors:
- [DOCUSIGN_EMAIL_1] - Email address of the first signee
- [DOCUSIGN_SIGNATURE_1] - Signature of the first signee
- [DOCUSIGN_FULL_NAME_1] - Full name of the first signee
- [DOCUSIGN_ROLE_1] - Role of the first signee
- [DOCUSIGN_ORGANIZATION_1] - Organization of the first signee
For the second signee, apply the same anchors, but use number "2" instead - e.g. [DOCUSIGN_FULL_NAME_2] and so on.
To make sure the automatically added table (as explained in 1.A and 1.B) is excluded, it's important to add an anchor [DOCUSIGN_NO_TABLE].
Example 1: Custom signing fields in a table with invisible table borders.
Example 2: Combining custom signing information with Precisely references and additional text
2. Sign document on every page
Precisely's integration with DocuSign allows signing document in the footer of every page of a document.
While choosing the location of the main signing table (either 1.A, 1.B or 1.C as explained above) is mandatory, signing document on every page is an additional functionality.
This can be achieved by using the anchor [DOCUSIGN_FOOTER] at the end of a document. Make sure this is the very last thing in your template, meaning there aren't any spacer or any characters after adding this achor. Adding this anchor will, once the document is sent for signing, insert a table in the footer of every page where every signee will have to sign.
How can I customize signing information if I'm working with externally generated files uploaded to Precisely?
If you're directly importing already generated third-party contracts you'd like to send for signing, that means you're not working with templates and therefore cannot use the customization benefits directly in Precisely.
Instead, you can activate an additional functionality "Send to DocuSign" that will redirect you from Precisely to your DocuSign account where you can further manage the customized signing process. Read more
