Why Can’t Users See or Find Folders?

Quick Answer:

If users don’t have access to the main (parent) folder, they won’t be able to see any subfolders inside it, even if they’ve been granted access to the subfolder itself.


Understanding Folder Access Behavior

When you share access to a subfolder only, users:

  • Will not see the subfolder listed in the Archive view.

  • Can only access the subfolder's files by:

    • Using a direct link, or

    • Searching or filtering for the documents 

How to Fix It

To make the subfolder visible in the Archive:

  1. Give users access to the parent folder in addition to the subfolder.
