# Why Can’t Users See or Find Folders?

## Learn more about setting team access policies on folders and subfolders in the Archive

### **Quick Answer:**

If users don’t have access to the **main (parent) folder**, they won’t be able to see any **subfolders** inside it, even if they’ve been granted access to the subfolder itself.

### **Understanding Folder Access Behavior**

When you share access to a **subfolder only**, users:

- **Will not** see the subfolder listed in the Archive view.
- **Can only** access the subfolder's files by:
  
    - Using a **direct link**, or
    - **Searching** or **filtering** for the documents

### **How to Fix It**

To make the subfolder visible in the Archive:

1. **Give users access to the parent folder** in addition to the subfolder.

Access policies can be set to apply either to the selected folder and its files only, or to include all subfolders and files within it:
