Archiving templates allow you to upload documents while automatically applying metadata, reminders, and archiving rules.
What Is an Archiving Workflow Template?
An Archiving Workflow Template is used for documents that:
- Only need to be stored in the archive
- Do not require approval, review, or signing
How to Upload a File Using an Archiving Template
- Start the upload process
- Click Upload signed contracts from the Home or Draft & Sign page
OR - Click Upload files on the Archive page


- Click Upload signed contracts from the Home or Draft & Sign page
- Select a template
- Choose an archiving template and click Continue
- If only one template is available, the drafting page will open automatically

- Upload your file
- On the draft page, click Browse and select your document

- On the draft page, click Browse and select your document
- Review AI-suggested metadata (if enabled)
- Accept or reject suggested values

- Accept or reject suggested values

Complete required fields
- Fill in questionnaire answers
- Click Continue
Note:
- The archive destination is shown at the bottom of the page

- Questionnaire fields may require manual input to support reminders and other automations
- Finalize the document
In the project, you can:- Manage metadata
- Add or edit reminders

Project Status
- If metadata validation is not required, the project status updates to Complete automatically
- If metadata validation is required, click Complete project to finalize the project and its documents
